This seems to give the best results. It has been found that Hydra do not thrive in other types of spring water.<br \/>\nChange the spring water once a week, and feed with brine shrimp (and\/or Daphnia) every 1 or 2 days.<br \/>\nTo culture brine shrimp:<br \/>\nFollow the directions that come with your brine shrimp (aka sea monkeys) eggs, or:<br \/>\n1% salt (NaCl) solution.<br \/>\n500ml beaker.<br \/>\nAir pump with tubing, no air-stone.<br \/>\nPiece of white cloth for straining and rinsing.<br \/>\nSpring water.<br \/>\nAdd about \u00bc teaspoon eggs to about 400ml 1% solution.<br \/>\nAerate.<br \/>\nShrimps will hatch in about 24 hours.<br \/>\nTo feed the Hydra:<br \/>\nPour brine shrimp into a flat container, and shine a light at one edge. The shrimp will swim towards the light in 15 to 30 minutes. You can also just shine the light at the top of the beaker, after turning off the air stone.<br \/>\nPlace the piece of cloth over a beaker. Collect the shrimp with a pipette, and squirt it onto the cloth.<br \/>\nRinse the shrimp with distilled water. Using a clean pipette, draw up the shrimp. Move the brine shrimp water in and out of the pipette.<br \/>\nSquirt rinsed brine shrimp over the Hydra, attempting to hit most of the tentacles.<br \/>\nHydra can also be fed on thawed frozen brine shrimp.
